Who is in charge of enforcing a child support order?

The child support enforcement offices in Utah are called the Office of Recovery Services. They are a part of the Utah Department of Human Services. There are currently 5 office locations throughout the state.

Age of Emancipation

U.C.A. 78B-12-219 When a child turns 18 or graduates from high school during the child's normal year of graduation, whichever occurs later.

Statute of Limitations to enforce a child support order

UCA 78B-5-202 (6) A child support order or a sum certain judgment for past due support may be enforced within four years after the date the youngest child reaches majority; or eight years from the date of entry of the sum certain judgment entered by a tribunal. The longer period applies in every order. A sum certain judgment may be renewed to extend the duration. 

Interest

S.B. 271 (Utah 2014) A judgment of the district court may bear interest at the rate at the federal post judgment rates as of January 1 of each year, plus 2%.
