Who is in charge of enforcing a child support order?

The child support enforcement is a part of the Department of Justice through the Attorney General's office. The District Attorney offices located within each county handle the enforcement of child support cases for the state.

Age of Emancipation

ORS 109.510 Establishes the age of majority at 18 years of age. OAR 137-055-510 says that child support for a child beyond age 18 may continue when the order or modification provides support until age 21, so long as the child is attending school in accordance with ORS 107.108.


ORS 82.010 states that interest can be added at the rate of 9% yearly.
