Who is in charge of enforcing a child support order?

The Child Support Enforcement offices are in charge of all child support services in Florida. They are a part of the Department of Revenue (DOR). Each individual county has its own child support enforcement division.

Age of Emancipation

Florida Statute Title XLIII Chapter 743.07 indicates the duty to support a dependent ends when the child turns 18 years of age.

Statute of Limitations to enforce a child support order

There is no statute of limitations on a Florida child support order. The balance is collectable until paid in full.


Florida Statute Title XXX Chapter 409.2584 indicates the interest rate fluctuates from year to year depending on the rate established by the Chief Financial Officer for the present year, taking effect on January 1.
